Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 1 August 2026

1. About these terms

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the APN Double Glazing website and any enquiry, quotation-request, consultation or installer-introduction service made available through it.

By using this website, submitting an enquiry or asking APN Double Glazing to introduce you to an installer, you confirm that you accept these Terms and Conditions.

If you do not accept these terms, you should not use the website or submit an enquiry through it.

2. About APN Double Glazing

APN Double Glazing is a trading style and specialist home-improvement website operated by:

APN Home Limited
167–169 Great Portland Street
London
W1W 5PF

Telephone: 0370 042 2021

Email: team@apndoubleglazing.co.uk

APN Double Glazing forms part of the APN Home group of home-improvement websites.

References in these terms to “APN”, “APN Double Glazing”, “we”, “us” or “our” mean APN Home Limited.

3. What APN Double Glazing does

APN Double Glazing provides:

  • general information about windows, doors, glazing and related home-improvement work;

  • information about materials, products, installation considerations and typical project costs;

  • enquiry and quotation-request facilities;

  • consultations and general project guidance;

  • introductions to independent window installers, door installers, glazing specialists, repair companies and other service providers; and

  • access to other websites and services within the APN Home group.

Unless we expressly agree otherwise in writing, APN Home Limited does not manufacture, survey, supply, fit, repair or guarantee windows, doors or glazing products.

4. Independent installers and service providers

Installers and other service providers introduced through APN Double Glazing operate as independent businesses.

They are not employees, agents, representatives, partners or subcontractors of APN Home Limited merely because they:

  • appear on the website;

  • receive an APN enquiry;

  • are described as members of an installer network;

  • advertise through an APN website; or

  • have been introduced to a homeowner by APN.

Each installer remains responsible for its own advice, surveys, measurements, quotations, product recommendations, legal compliance, installation work, warranties, insurance, employees and subcontractors.

Nothing on the website creates a partnership, joint venture or agency relationship between APN and an installer.

5. Introductions and quotation requests

When you submit a quotation request or project enquiry, you authorise APN to review the information supplied and, where appropriate, pass relevant details to one or more installers or service providers who may be able to assist.

An introduction does not guarantee that:

  • an installer will contact you;

  • an installer will be available in your area;

  • a quotation will be supplied;

  • the installer will accept the project;

  • the quotation will meet your budget;

  • planning permission or another approval will be obtained; or

  • the work will be completed within a particular period.

Installers decide independently whether to respond to an enquiry and whether to offer their services.

You are not obliged to accept any quotation obtained through APN.

6. Contracts with installers

Any contract for surveying, manufacturing, supplying, repairing or installing windows, doors or glazing is entered into directly between you and the installer.

APN Home Limited is not normally a party to that contract.

Before accepting an installer’s quotation, you should obtain and review written confirmation of:

  • the full business name and contact details of the installer;

  • the precise products and work included;

  • frame materials, colours and finishes;

  • glass and hardware specifications;

  • measurements and opening arrangements;

  • the total price, including VAT and other charges;

  • deposit and staged-payment arrangements;

  • expected delivery and installation dates;

  • making-good and waste-removal responsibilities;

  • product and workmanship guarantees;

  • insurance-backed guarantees where applicable;

  • cancellation rights;

  • complaints procedures; and

  • any applicable certification or registration arrangements.

You should not rely solely upon information supplied verbally.

7. Your responsibility when choosing an installer

APN may undertake reasonable checks before accepting or introducing an installer. However, an introduction is not a warranty that the installer will be suitable for every property or project.

You remain responsible for deciding whether to appoint an installer.

Before entering into a contract, you should consider conducting your own checks, including:

  • verifying the installer’s identity and business address;

  • checking relevant trade memberships or competent-person registrations;

  • confirming public liability and other appropriate insurance;

  • reviewing recent and relevant installation experience;

  • requesting references where appropriate;

  • checking the proposed guarantee;

  • comparing more than one quotation; and

  • ensuring that all important terms are recorded in writing.

Use of terms such as “experienced”, “trusted”, “approved”, “member”, “partner”, “specialist” or “vetted” describes the basis on which a business may participate in or be presented through the APN network. It does not remove the homeowner’s responsibility to consider whether that business is suitable for the particular project.

8. APN fees and commercial relationships

Homeowners will normally not be charged merely for submitting an enquiry or requesting an installer introduction, unless a separate paid service is clearly identified and agreed in advance.

APN may receive:

  • installer membership fees;

  • advertising or promotional fees;

  • marketing fees;

  • referral or introduction fees; or

  • other commercial payments from installers and service providers.

The existence of such an arrangement does not increase the price you have agreed to pay unless the installer’s quotation expressly states otherwise.

Installers remain responsible for setting their own prices and quotations.

9. Consultations and general guidance

Any initial consultation or guidance supplied by APN is intended to help you understand possible products, project routes and questions to discuss with an installer.

Unless expressly confirmed through a separate written appointment, APN guidance does not constitute:

  • a measured survey;

  • a window or door specification;

  • architectural or engineering advice;

  • planning advice specific to the property;

  • Building Regulations approval;

  • legal advice;

  • financial advice;

  • a structural assessment;

  • a guarantee that work is technically suitable; or

  • authority to commence work.

Site-specific decisions should be confirmed by an appropriately qualified professional or contractor who has inspected the property.

10. Website information

We take reasonable care when preparing the website, but its contents are provided for general information only.

Products, prices, technologies, energy ratings, regulations, grant schemes and industry practices can change. Information may also need to be interpreted differently depending on the age, construction, location and legal status of a property.

Cost figures and price ranges are indicative only. Actual prices may vary depending on factors including:

  • window or door size;

  • frame material;

  • glass specification;

  • access;

  • scaffolding;

  • property condition;

  • manufacturing requirements;

  • location;

  • removal and disposal work;

  • making good; and

  • the installer selected.

You should obtain a property-specific survey and written quotation before making a purchasing decision.

11. Planning permission, listed buildings and Building Regulations

Responsibility for determining whether planning permission, listed-building consent, Building Regulations approval, freeholder consent, leaseholder consent or another approval is required rests with the property owner and the appointed professional or installer.

Additional controls may apply to:

  • listed buildings;

  • conservation areas;

  • properties affected by an Article 4 direction;

  • flats and maisonettes;

  • leasehold properties;

  • buildings subject to planning conditions; and

  • alterations involving enlarged or repositioned openings.

Information on the website should not be treated as confirmation that a particular project is lawful or exempt from approval.

12. Energy efficiency, noise reduction and security

Statements concerning energy efficiency, heat retention, condensation, noise reduction and security describe potential benefits of suitable products when correctly specified and installed.

Actual performance depends on factors including:

  • the complete window or door specification;

  • glass type and thickness;

  • frame construction;

  • seals and installation quality;

  • ventilation;

  • building fabric;

  • property exposure;

  • room use; and

  • existing insulation.

APN does not guarantee a specific reduction in energy consumption, heating costs, noise, condensation or insurance premiums.

13. Guarantees and warranties

Any product guarantee, workmanship guarantee, insurance-backed guarantee or deposit-protection arrangement is provided by the installer, manufacturer or relevant guarantee provider named in the documentation.

You should confirm:

  • who is providing the guarantee;

  • what is covered;

  • any exclusions;

  • the guarantee period;

  • whether it is transferable;

  • whether it requires registration;

  • whether servicing or maintenance conditions apply; and

  • what happens if the installer stops trading.

APN Home Limited does not provide an installer’s product or workmanship guarantee unless this is expressly confirmed in a separate written agreement.

14. Cancellation rights

Your cancellation rights for installation or supply contracts are governed by the agreement made with the installer and applicable consumer law.

Contracts made online, by telephone or away from the installer’s normal business premises may carry statutory cancellation rights.

Bespoke or made-to-measure products may be treated differently from standard goods, and charges may arise where you ask for services to begin during a cancellation period.

The installer must provide the applicable cancellation information.

You should read the installer’s terms before paying a deposit or authorising manufacturing or installation work.

Submitting an enquiry to APN does not itself commit you to buying products or services from an installer.

15. Payments

Unless APN expressly confirms otherwise, all deposits, stage payments and final payments relating to installation work are made directly to the appointed installer.

APN is not responsible for:

  • money paid directly to an installer;

  • the installer’s payment terms;

  • deposit protection;

  • chargeback availability;

  • financing arrangements;

  • credit agreements; or

  • recovering money following a dispute.

You should verify the recipient’s account details before transferring funds and should be cautious about unexpected requests to change payment details.

16. Complaints about installers

Concerns about workmanship, products, delays, payments or contractual matters should first be raised directly with the installer using its complaints procedure.

APN may, at its discretion:

  • record the complaint;

  • request information from the installer;

  • help reopen communication;

  • review whether the installer should continue to receive APN enquiries; or

  • direct the parties towards an appropriate dispute-resolution route.

APN is not a court, arbitrator, ombudsman or adjudicator and is not obliged to determine contractual disputes.

Any assistance offered by APN does not make APN responsible for the installer’s work or obligations.

Complaints concerning APN’s own website or introduction service should be emailed to:

team@apndoubleglazing.co.uk

17. Reviews and feedback

Reviews and feedback must reflect genuine experiences and must not contain:

  • false or misleading information;

  • defamatory or abusive statements;

  • discriminatory language;

  • confidential information;

  • personal information about another person;

  • advertising or spam; or

  • content supplied in return for an undisclosed incentive.

We may moderate, investigate, decline or remove content where we reasonably believe it breaches these terms, applicable law or our review policies.

We do not guarantee that every submitted review will be published.

18. Your use of the website

You must not:

  • use the website unlawfully or fraudulently;

  • submit false contact details or fictitious projects;

  • impersonate another person or business;

  • interfere with the website’s operation or security;

  • introduce viruses, malware or harmful code;

  • attempt unauthorised access to the website or its systems;

  • scrape, harvest or reproduce website data without permission;

  • use website content to build a competing database or directory;

  • send abusive, threatening or discriminatory communications; or

  • misuse the enquiry system to market unrelated goods or services.

We may restrict or block access where we reasonably believe the website is being misused.

19. Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, the website and its contents are owned by or licensed to APN Home Limited.

This includes:

  • text;

  • articles;

  • graphics;

  • logos;

  • branding;

  • illustrations;

  • photographs;

  • page layouts;

  • databases; and

  • downloadable materials.

You may view and print reasonable extracts for your own personal, non-commercial use.

You must not reproduce, modify, republish, sell, license, distribute or commercially exploit website content without prior written permission.

“APN”, “APN Home”, “APN Double Glazing” and related branding must not be used in a manner that suggests an affiliation, endorsement or membership that has not been authorised.

20. Third-party websites

The website may contain links to installers, manufacturers, professional bodies, public authorities and other third-party websites.

Links are provided for information and convenience. APN does not control third-party websites and is not responsible for their:

  • availability;

  • accuracy;

  • security;

  • content;

  • products;

  • services;

  • privacy practices; or

  • contractual terms.

A link does not necessarily represent an endorsement.

21. Availability of the website

We aim to keep the website available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access.

We may suspend, withdraw, update or restrict any part of the website for maintenance, security, commercial or operational reasons.

We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by matters beyond our reasonable control, including telecommunications failures, hosting problems, cyber incidents or third-party platform outages.

22. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for:

  • death or personal injury caused by negligence;

  • fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or

  • breach of statutory rights that cannot legally be excluded.

Subject to the above, APN Home Limited is not responsible for losses arising from:

  • the acts or omissions of an independent installer;

  • defective products or workmanship supplied by an installer;

  • delays, cancellations or non-attendance by an installer;

  • inaccurate measurements or specifications prepared by an installer;

  • failure to obtain necessary approvals;

  • reliance on general website information without obtaining property-specific advice;

  • the insolvency or cessation of trading of an installer;

  • payments made directly to an installer; or

  • disputes under a contract between a homeowner and an installer.

Where APN is legally liable in connection with its own introduction service, liability will be limited to losses that were reasonably foreseeable and directly caused by APN’s breach.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory consumer rights.

23. Privacy and personal information

Personal information supplied through the website will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Where you request an introduction or quotation, relevant details may be shared with suitable installers, service providers or other APN Home group services so that your enquiry can be considered and responded to.

You should not submit unnecessary sensitive or confidential information through a general enquiry form.

Marketing communications will be sent only where permitted by applicable law. You may object to or opt out of direct marketing at any time.

ICO guidance confirms that organisations must explain clearly how information will be used and respect an individual’s absolute right to object to direct marketing.

24. Changes to these terms

We may revise these Terms and Conditions to reflect:

  • changes to the website;

  • changes to APN services;

  • changes to our installer network;

  • legal or regulatory developments; or

  • changes to our business arrangements.

The current version will be published on this page with its last-updated date.

Continued use of the website after changes are published will constitute acceptance of the revised terms.

25. Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be treated as removed or modified only to the extent necessary.

The remaining provisions will continue in full force.

26. No waiver

A failure or delay by APN in enforcing any provision of these terms does not waive our right to enforce that provision later.

27. Third-party rights

Unless expressly stated otherwise, no person other than you and APN Home Limited has any right to enforce these terms under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.

28. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you will retain any mandatory protections and rights available under the laws applicable in your place of residence.

The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, subject to any statutory right you may have to bring proceedings in another part of the United Kingdom.
